clever french people (well, they always think they're smart, don't they?) came up with the concept of the enlightenment.
this seems to have been based on the idea that rational thought and knowledge is the route to human happiness.

the only way to be truly happy is to know the truth and not to accept anything unless there is absolute proof.

they came up with this sometime around 1770 (which is about ten minutes past six GMT).

and i hate to admit it, but having looked through the daily papers today, i think they were right.
i ended up not believing anything i was reading because almost all the news was generated either by politicians or celebrities.
or estate agents.
or bankers.

but i was consoled by the thought that every word i write on my blog is absolutely true ...

have a lovely evening!
