Here in Scotland they have a habit of calling you "hen". A long time ago A bus driver called me every morning until I kept giving him a egg along with my bus fare!!

In some parts of Yorkshire Cock is used in the same way that the Scots would use Hen - Seems there is a chicken thing going on in both places just with a different gender bias.
I have heard that too,
Bet (Julie Goodyear) from corrie called her bevvy regulars that name.

Yes,Duck is another one! what is it with the bird theme? I think I've heard people being called a Turkey, meaning a bit of an idiot (a lot of mouth and no trousers) Also people can be referred to as Ostrich like (burying their head in the sand/turning a blind eye or Peacock when they like to preen and look pretty.

I'm with you on this. Blunt and to the point. its The way forward.
Mind you I once worked with a guy who called his wife 'My Little Spunkbucket' and meant it (and unbelievably she took it) as a term of affection. Some pet names are just wrong!!!!!!

I'm ashamed to say I secretly like pet names... Except for 'pet', don't like it when a guy calls me 'pet' - it sounds like something your dad or uncle should call you, not a boyfriend. 'Darling' gets me every time though.
