so the thing is, what shall i give up for lent?
what could i abandon for forty days and forty nights that would improve my life, boost my health, give me added moral fibre, and make me feel generally good about myself?
giving up nude indoor hang gliding would be tough. and i have been invited to appear at the royal command performance this year - it's being held at the winter gardens, bognor regis - so i wil need to practice. i hear her majesty has ordered a new pair of binoculars for the occasion. i'll be flying at altitude and it will probably be quite chilly around the atrium.
being nice to ramblers ... nice idea, but it's completely out of the question.
i could start smoking for lent, i suppose.
difficult, isn't it?
is anyone considering giving something up for lent?
i'm planning to give up alcohol and could do with some mutual support!

My goodness, is it that time of year already! As a kid, we did the Shrove Tuesday, Ash Wednesday - give something up thing, but during the adult years I have strayed away from this procedure. I will give it some thought, to see if there would be any value in it being reinstated
