why don't coach drivers write poems, do exercises and eat fruit while their passengers are wandering around a boring 'attraction', instead of eating pies and smoking fags?

Naughty Kevin making generalisation!
My ex-husband was a coach driver who didn't eat pies and smoke fags. He didn't write poetry but he would try to make boring attractions less boring by reading up on them before a visit and sharing interesting snippets. If the attractions were teally, really boring he would often embroider the snippets!
