there's this seawall not far from my palace - the gulls love to perch here, looking out for naive fish and chip eaters, who selfishly think the food is for their own consumption. i got a nice posey shot of a gull here not long ago and i think it's still on my media somewhere. but i got this one, which i probably like more. they really are fantastic creatures. i love the way they soar on the sea breeze, and find it amazing how they can glide into a strong south westerly while us humans are hanging onto fence posts to stay upright.

Well done, I know just how hard it is to photograph those fast-moving feckers! That's far better than any I've ever taken.

Oh Kevin that's a brilliant picy were I live by the sea we have gulls and seagulls and oh dont they just Dive on you when your eating ... and they *SH** on you too

I was sat having coffee with a friend last year sometime and we had just got our lovely BIG tasty cups of coffee and within 5 seconds the seagulls did a BOMB right in my cup ... in my friends cup AND all down my face, coat and legs ... I dont know how they do it because we had an unberella over the table.

Beautiful birds! I love watching them when I'm near the sea. Love their mewling cries too. Great picture!
