do you remember that phase a few years ago when just about every office was playing practical jokes with phone calls?
the usual one was leaving a message on your desk saying 'please phone Mr G Raff on xxxxxxx' - and, what a hoot, you end up phoning the nearest zoo. and if that didn't fool you, they'd try "Ellie Fant", or similar.
the thing is - were you fooled?
and are there better office japes out there now?
the one that always got me, though, was someone waiting till i was deep in conversation on the phone, then putting a note in front of me designed to make me laugh. they knew i just laughed at anything, and many was the time i had to splutter an apology and put the phone down.
