do you ever sit and listen - well, ok, eavesdrop?
i do - i love the different ways people laugh, and cough, and have conversations.

research tells us that for all our technology revolution - smartphones, the web, blogging, wireless networks - all we're doing is having much the same conversations as we did before.
like people calling on the mobile phone from the supermarket - they've run out of coco pops, shall i get puffa wheat?  that sort of thing.

anyway, cafe conversations are my favourite ...  and here's one i heard earlier ...

so i told him.
did you?

well, it was as plain as the nose on his face.
i bet it was.

this coffee's bitter. want some sugar in it?
mmmm. yes.  so what did he say?

oh i don't want brown sugar.  don't ask me why. i just don't ...
no.  white is best.

those cakes look nice.
shall we?  my treat....

etc etc

i never found out what she told him and neither did her friend.

i wanted to kiss them both.
