strange that when people start off by saying 'to be perfectly honest with you...' - you just know they're making it up as they go along.

i find i'm very good at knowing when people are being true or false.  it's like an instinct with me.
but sometimes it gets in the way.
like when you just want an enjoyable night out and you end up talking to someone who everyone else thinks is great, but you know is a complete fraud.

i find it hard to deal with people who feel the need to pretend to be someone else.
perhaps i take it as an insult, or perhaps i feel sorry for them - it depends on whether they are likeable false or not.

my problem is that i instinctively want to like people and trust them, so i'm a harsher critic than i should be.

are you like that, or are you more broadminded and forgiving?

don't ask me why i'm writing this now.
i haven't got a clue.

but at least it's all true!
