there appear to be only two women in the top 18 featured blogs at the moment.
why is that?
is it that most women have more sense than to spend so much time blogging, or are male bloggers just better at it?
i demand a public inquiry.

I just want to know how the heck to get into this likkle exclusive club, it's a complete mystery!
I have found myself in there a few times but have absolutely no idea how it happened. Did I get drunk and get kicked out again? Did I use the wrong perfume? Perhaps my bra and knickers didn't match?

Pro i think a lot depends on how long you have been a member of this community.
then how many times you post and comment during the day, and how many visitors you get.
that's my theory anyway.

I have pondered this many times. My theory is that the top rows are awarded in order of membership length provided they blog each day. The next three or so slots are also daily bloggers with lots of visitors. Then there are the Halley's Comet bloggers .... or am I thinking blue moon bloggers?
But now I think I prefer Missy's explanation.

If I were a feminist, I'd say something daft like "men run this website and men rule the world," but really, this blog seems to have absolutely no established criteria or rhyme or reason to their "top blogs" listing--even the listing has a weird number: not "top ten" or "top 20" but somewhere in the teens, if I remember correctly?
I haven't looked at the top blogs listing in almost 6 or 8 months, to the best of my knowledge, except for the few times I had to go to the home page for something. Anyone know what makes "top blogs" tick?

Oh dear. I have no matching lingerie. I don't have fantastic breasts. Well I do, but for entirely unusual reasons (don't ask) and I didn't join until just lately. So it's the tantrum or the washing. Emm. Perhaps the tantrum would work then?

To be honest I get so busy with life stuff I run out of time (usually a year or so's worth lol) Besides I don't believe I have anything worthwhile to blog about, but I do hope that when I do hit the keyboard, someone might gain something from whatever I choose to leave.

the blog is our own personal property ... i think that's why it seems weird that we have to have some sort of league table.

Hmmm..interesting question. Although I am somewhat inexperienced when it comes to blogging I have already found myself more intrigued by posts written by men. I think this is largely due to the fact that men expose themselves more and speak their minds which makes a far more interesting read. (Generalisation I realise!)
I also think that again, largely sexist and generalist, that men are less likely to be blogging about family life which can be boring if not written exceptionally.

Pro yeah, you could be right, there - in the end they're our own personal blogs and i suppose i'm wondering if it would be better not to have some sort of top 18 because it suggests that your own is somehow inferior?

But I've noticed that Popular Users is stuck.
Some people on there haven't logged on for months.
In one or two cases for three hundred plus days.
Its madness I tell you .. sheer madness!!!!

team The criteria for selection to the Features Blogs is top secret, but it factors in comments, views, recent posts, links, etc - pretty much all the things you would expect. And then a pinch of blog salt, and a sprig of blog parsely...
The exact recipe is top secret, and will remain that way.
