this is a different viewpoint of the same scene i used in the first of the sea series.
but i have focussed on the rock, and i loved the sight of the cormorant stretching its wings out to dry.
i played around with this and eventually settled on this setting because it somehow conveys to me how cold and bracing it was that day, emphasises the outline of the bird, and gives the whole scene a feeling of atmosphere.
i do like this one - i can almost taste the salt on my lips when i look at it.

I like the shapes, but have you played with the colours a lot? I'd be very interested to see the original image that your camera captured at the time.

thanks tom - i played around with colour a fair bit, trying to cut down the green and just stay the right side of black and white! i'm happy enough with the result, though there are plenty of things i could improve.

It's almost like the cormorant is trying to emulate "Christ the Redeemer" in Rio.
Cracking shot, not too sure about the colour though.-
