at what age does someone become old?
when does middle age happen?
now that i am past the age of 40 should i have reached puberty, or be having a mid-life crisis?
is puberty just a small town in wales?
how do you know you've had a mid-life crisis and not just an everyday sort of crisis?
i'm confused.
is that my age?
answers in large print, or yelled through a megaphone, please.

A mid life crises would be at the age of ten if you are twenty, or, at 20 if you are 40. Of course it will be 50 if you are going to live till you are 100, or, 60 if you are going to live to 120.

Pro Where do I sign up for a mid-life crisis it sounds like a good excuse to have some fun for a bit!
I'm only 25 though is that considered too early to have one?

you'll just have to join the queue.
it costs five pound a week, or for ten pounds a week you can have a complete once and for all crisis that lasts about six months.
under 30s pay half price!

Pro I think the £5 a week experience would be better, why limit myself to once and for all when I could have my crisis over and over. I can do different things each time and see what suits for the big one!

ah, I did a private post listing the symptoms of mid life crisis. They are:
- looking at younger women or having an affair with one
- taking more care in your appearance
- conspicuous consumption of flashy products or a sports car
- thinking you have acheived nothing in life
I think you have to display more than one of these symptoms to be having a mid life crisis

3. Oh dear. Well, is a mid life crisis necessarily a bad thing? Maybe it is what we need to realise that life is for real, and not a dress rehearsal.

How's that?
Technically, middle age should be half the average age of death, so 35-40-ish, although it is "variously reckoned to suit the reckoner".

I'm looking forward to my mid-life crisis. Just to make sure it differentiates from an everyday crisis it'll be sure to involve leather jackets, a Harley, a ponytail, a partner half my age and a sudden interest in glam rock. I might not go for a goatee though. That would be weird.
Then after about 3 years I'll give up and go back to train-spotting.
Oh and if you're not sure whether you have reached puberty yet there are a couple of sure-fire ways to find out.
